Objective Setting – Pull A Personal Best in 2010

What works in one area of life quite often can be repeated to good effect in another.

I like sport, in particular swimming, biking and running. I throw them all together and compete in Triathlons. As part of my first Tri in 2008, I bought ‘Triathlons for Beginners’. I studied the advice given regarding equipment, Training, race day and all the bits in between.

Welcome to the Coaching Cafe

During November and December of last year, QED also piloted a series of new awareness sessions, designed to benefit individuals and demonstrate how QED can support.

The Coaching Cafe‘s ran with the help of a well known international coffee retailer in a Sheffield branch, and drew interest from a number of sectors, such as financial, local government and retail. All this was conducted in a relaxed and informal coffee shop setting, which proved part of the success. But what are they?

The Coaching Cafe, works from a central theme, titles of the three sessions so far have been:

  • Are you a Player or a Spectator?
  • It’s a Customer’s Life
  • The Art of Feedback

Backed up with some tangible statistics, the sessions discussed an overview and the common pitfalls of the subject matter, but also allowed the individual attendee to air any challenges they are facing, and in return acquire some coaching from an experienced coach, that would prove useful from the moment they walked back into their work environment.

The feedback that was provided by the attendee’s was that it proved “valuable” and “insightful”, and “made me think about the problem in a different way”.

QED Consulting will be launching the Coaching Café next Month – Look out for further information in the February E Bulletin or for further information regarding the Coaching Café please call Laura Whapplington or Scott Pearson on 01302 761 222.
