Another new addition to the QED team arrived this month, so a big welcome to Scott Pearson. Scott arrives from Aviva, the world’s 5th largest insurance company. Where he has held several roles over the years across the country and overseas that utilized his 13 years experience in operational learning & development. His latest project was the culture change and re-brand that saw Norwich Union evolve into Aviva, a project that impacted 8000 leaders across the organisation.

Outside the office Scott loves his music and sport, often going to sporting events and gigs across the country. He does follow one team, but refuses to share who it is, for fear of reprisal.

Calendar dates for September

September is the end of holiday season and back to work and school (for the kids). Luckly in this month we are still having our fair share of sun.

9 to 12 Sep - St. Leger, Doncaster. It was first run in 1776, making it the oldest classic in the world.

4 Sep to 8 Nov - Blackpool Illuminations - The seaside town of Blackpool is decorated with lights along 6 miles of the sea front.

18 to 20 Sep - Rosh Hashanah - Start of the Jewish New Year. The celebration starts at nightfall on the first day and ends at nightfall 2 days later. One of the traditions at this time is to blow the shofar (a ram's horn, used as an instrument)

20 Sep - Great North Run - The world's largest half-marathon is run in Newcastle. There are about 50,000 runners, many of them running to raise money for charity.

22 Sep - Autumn Equinox - when day and night are of equal length. Druids celebrate this at Primrose Hill, London and at Stonehenge and other ancient monuments.
