Leading for Success – Making Good Managers into Great Leaders

Managers and leaders have completely different ways of getting things done.

Managers Organise while Leaders Motivate
Managers Control while Leaders Inspire
Managers Show How while Leaders Show Why
Managers Know the Answers while Leaders Ask for Suggestions
Managers See the Detail while Leaders See the Big Picture
Managers Support Systems while Leaders Support People

It is no surprise people prefer to be Led rather than Managed and when done properly leadership is more effective in helping organisations achieve success.

Pro Sheffield Event update

Still keeping with our Talent Management focus last month, Sharan Gohel, Chartered Occupational Psychologist recently spoke at an event organised by Pro Sheffield. The focus of the talk was - Talent Management and Managing Change in the current economic climate. The presentation highlighted some of the key challenges being faced by businesses today – not just the recession, but also explored how a talent management strategy can be implemented and used to drive forward an organisation’s strategy. Sharan spoke alongside Ian Davy, who built Windowcare UK from scratch until it was sold in 2002 to French giant Saint-Gobain. This event was a huge success – it attracted over 100 professionals and presented a great opportunity to network.
