Simple Steps to Stay Ahead of Disaster

A disaster recovery plan (DRP) describes how an organisation is to deal with potential disasters. A business continuity plan (BCP) describes the processes and procedures an organisation puts in place to ensure that essential functions can continue during and after a disaster.

An effective disaster recovery/business continuity plan (DR/BC) is critical to the success of any business nowadays. DR/BC used to be reserved for large enterprises, but in the increasingly 24/7 business world, more and more SMEs are finding they can't afford not to keep things running. Most of the organisations have almost doubled the number of mission-critical applications during the past decade, including email, CRM system etc. Yet many of the businesses are poorly prepared for any disaster.

  1. Build your pricing strategy into your core business, sales, marketing and finance plans. They all need to interact to produce the model you are most happy with. A plan will not only help you to see other options and choose the best, it will also help you track your progress and identify any areas of possible weakness that may need to be addressed as you proceed. It is a cliché, but if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
