Succession Planning for Smaller Businesses Part 2

In the first part of this article, we looked at three case-studies. These offered compelling reasons why, after starting a business, there may be no more important an issue for owners to address than planning the succession of their senior managers, with as long a time-scale as possible. .

Creative Juices

QED Consulting became involved in the ‘Creative Juices’ Project back in January 2008. The objective of the invitation was to give art students an opportunity to work in the real world in terms of creating a piece of art in response to a customer brief.

On the 15th of May the Creative Juices Project came to an inspiring close, as Doncaster College art students unveiled their art work to QED Consulting, Peglers Limited and Clyde Materials Handling. The students had a ‘business challenge’ to fulfil by producing a piece of art that they felt depicted one of the 3 companies involved.

Executive Chairman Steve Hinton, Director Kathy Denton and Business Development Manager Rebecca Hughes had the difficult task of choosing the winning piece of work. In fact after much deliberation the QED Consulting representatives chose not one but two pieces of art to commission, produced by Reuben Crow and Ross Clarke.

We would like to say congratulations to all the students involved who created truly outstanding work and thank you to the college for organising the project. The winning pieces really captured the essence of QED Consulting, but in different ways and we look forward to welcoming you all into our offices to view our newly commissioned art.
