Welcome to October’s edition of QED Consulting’s E bulletin.

As the Summer holiday season winds down and the corporate engine speeds back up, many of us are back at our desks thinking about a whole host of businesses challenges, the accounts, recruitment, customers and sales… the list goes on. One of our challenges at QED Consulting is understanding what you, our customers, think about us and how we can respond even more effectively to your needs! So, with Halloween looming we are taking time out to explore some common business nightmares;

  • Have your say and help us sleep more soundly by telling us what you think about us and how we can improve our services to you: Mini questionnaire
  • Having business nightmares? – ‘You are not alone’ explores how Action Learning can turn the nightmares into sweet dreams
  • Assessment Centres – how to overcome recruitment and development problems and make sure you select effective staff rather than disruptive demons!

This E bulletin will take just a few minutes of your time and we promise you it will be time well spent and really enjoyable too!

In previous E bulletins we have talked about the benefits of conducting customer surveys and have stressed how they are important tools for any organisation wanting to proactively meet the needs of and exceed the expectations of customers and contacts. As a management consultancy we like to ‘practice what we preach’ and therefore would love to know your thoughts about us and our services in our survey.

The first ten responses will receive a treat from our Halloween goodie bag and we promise that we will use your answers to help improve our services.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete and all responses will remain confidential. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and sharing the results with you all in the December E bulletin.

Halloween is nearly here, the nights are drawing in, the bats are in the air but do not fear…

You are not alone…in business at least there is someone in the dark with you!

Leading a business, department or a team can sometimes be quite a lonely position yet research shows that many senior executives often put themselves last when seeking support or developing their own skills. A QED Consulting client survey showed that 5 out of 7 organisations assign the smallest portion of their training budget to senior management. Some also say they are far too busy doing their job to spend time on the enhancement of their own business and people skills.

“But they came across so well at interview...”

Have you ever wondered why a candidate with seemingly perfect credentials on paper, excellent experience and expected “fit” with the organisation ends up performing poorly or worse still, leaving?

QED Consulting was pleased to welcome guests to its Doncaster office for the third in the current series of seminar and networking lunches. QED Consulting would like to say a special thank you to our guest speaker, Chris Worts from Skipton Building Society – who gave an engaging and enlightening insight into his experiences of the Putting the Customer First ® Standard.

Chamber Awards

It is that time of year again as businesses as across the country are waiting to hear if they have been short listed for the local chamber business awards. There are plenty of nervous twitches in the office as we wait to hear from Doncaster Chamber if we have been short listed for the Invest in Skills and Customer Service Award! In the recent past QED Consulting has been short listed for both awards on numerous occasions and took the gold in the Customer Service award back in 2005! We hope to keep you up to date with good news and would like to say ‘Good luck’ to all other fellow chamber award entrants.
